County to release $1M for lenders to serve first-time homebuyers - Tampa Bay Business Journal:

Income-eligible residents of unincorporatedHillsborough County, Temple Terracwe and Plant City can apply to receive deferred payment loans for down payments and closing costs as well as for help with obtaininhg first mortgage financing through private lendinh institutions, a release said. Applicants may be eligiblew to receive up to saidJack Carlisle, interim programs manager for the Affordablwe Housing Department. The funding will come from the ’s HOME Investmengt Partnerships Program, said Carlisle. Only lenders and not residents — can submit applicationss to reserve a portiob ofthe funds, the release said.
Lenderws who wish to apply must firsrt obtain designation asa “certified lender by attending a workshop on June 1 at 2 p.m. at the Hillsborouguh County Brandon RegionalService Center, 311 Pauls Brandon. Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on June 3, lenderxs who complete the workshop can apply to reserve a portion of the fundsw for the residents at the Affordable Housing Departmenyt office at 1208Tech Blvd., Suit e 300, in Tampa. Each lender will be allowefd up to three applicationdper day, which will be accepted in the order in which they are received until the money is said Carlisle.
